Baptism of the Holy Ghost for Christian Believers

They that believe shall receive a river.
John 7:37-39 → In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.
He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
(But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

He told the disciples to go and wait for the Holy Spirit to be poured out.
Luke 24:49 → And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

This is what the Holy Ghost baptism looks like. Tongues of fire.
Acts 2:1-4 → And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

The baptism in the Holy Ghost is a gift for all who believe.
Acts 2:38-39 → Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

The baptism in the Holy Ghost is the power of God in the life of the believer.
Acts 1:8 → But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

The apostles laid hands on the new believers and they received the Holy Ghost.
Acts 8:14-17 → Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:
Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost: (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.

The Church That Jesus Has Purchased

Acts 20:28, "...feed the church of God, which he purchased with His own blood."

There is a church that the Lord Jesus Christ has purchased with His own blood. It is a church that was born in the fires of the Holy Ghost (Luke 24:49, Acts 2:1-4). It is the place where all of God's glory dwells (John 17:22). It is a church where of signs, wonders & miracles are an everyday occurrence (Acts 5:12, Mark 16:17-18). It is a church that shines as a divine beacon of light in a dark and corrupt world (John 12:26).

This is the church that Jesus has purchased. This is the church that He preached, He demonstrated, He suffered for, He bleed for, and He died for. This is the church that He rose again for. This is the church that He has given.

All are welcome to join this church! Jesus said, "Any that come to me I will in no wise cast out." While we were yet sinners Christ suffered and died for us (Romans 5:8). Paul preached that we were Christ's joy as he hung on the cross, for He knew what he was doing; He was purchasing our place in His church (Hebrews 12:2).

Though all are welcome to come to Jesus just as we are, a transformation is required in order join the church of the Lord Jesus Christ. In exchange for our failures and faults Jesus offers humanity a new nature, a new heart, and a new life (Ezekiel 36:26, Romans 6:3-4).

As a light shining on a hill, the church of the Lord Jesus Christ remains available for all who would trade in their life, repent and be converted, and take on the nature of Christ Jesus (Acts 3:19).

Repent and be converted, for the kingdom of God has come nigh unto you. Amen.
